I think it's fair to say that Wenger will do what he wants. And what he wants does not always match up with what he says.
Pretty much, if he signs players that will be great, I won't be getting excited till they've signed on the dotted line though.
That's a prudent approach and nothing wrong with it. We've been let down repeatedly in the transfer window where one or two smart buys would have gone a long way to maybe getting a trophy in the last 7 years. Hopefully we'll see a bit more of a splurge this summer which translates to a greater chance of a trophy. I'm not expecting a £100m splurge but it seems bringing in 2-3 more useful players would go a long way.
