Because once you give these cunts control of content on the Internet they will abuse the power. In fact the legislation also covers "chat", "forums", and several other types of non-pornographic content and even goes as far as to propose an opt-in for "esoteric" content. What does that mean? Non-mainstream approved?

Let's be clear, fucking cunt politicians don't give a fuck about kids unless they are fiddling with them and blaming Jimmy Saville for the whole deal. Tie this shit in with their two-tier Internet proposals and their lust for invading privacy and what do you get when this thin end of the wedge broadens out?

I'm even against an opt-out because it still allows them to impose the infrastructure.

And, of course, as a swathe of Internet and technology experts have told them - there are much more effective alternatives available to parents already and they won't cost a penny in taxpayer funding, whereas this project will of course be fucked beyond all recognition and will cost at least 25 times more than budget because government is demonstrably incompetent at everything it does. So we'll more likely end up with a broken Internet than an Internet safe for kids which can never and will never exist anyway. That's the whole point of parental responsibility and government and all the cunts who man it should fuck off out of the equation.

Complacency is another way to go I suppose. So many have the idea the turds that work for the state are intelligent and motivated by worthy goals, despite a sea of evidence revealing how everything they touch turns to shit. Theory and principle aren't valued currencies which is a shame, but when the practical aspects of the loss of privacy emerge we're going to hear a lot of complaining. It will be too late by then. It should be instructive that even the media (FFS) are worried about where this is leading. But there remains an overwhelming (but diminishing) majority who, as you say, prefer to wank, chat, look at cats and shop. There's just no time for them to defend their own liberty, I get that.
