He is needed in the sense that any good player would be needed, but I agree - there are plenty of other areas to piss £10m and £80k wages on before we get to the CB position. Buying a midfield would be quite handy.

But even in midfield we have:

Rosicky, Walcott, Gervinho, Ramsey, Jack, Arteta, Song, Ox, Diaby.

Other than strikers we have fucking loads of players. The only way Wenger can improve our midfield/defence is paying massive bucks for 'super quality' players and I can't see him doing that.

It'll be an interesting summer to see what he does because we certainly don't need bodies (other than up front).

Yes we do, its more or less likely him or TV5 will be 1st choice LB next season anyways if we got him.

Quantity wise we are fine

Quality wise we are nowhere near the level we should be

Vertonghen is better than Squillaci and Djourou and id say better than Kos as well

We deffo need a midfielder in the Nasri mould as Jack will replace Cesc. Benni will go back to chavs which frees up room for a Gotze/Hazard to come in. If we get rid or The dross, Ashavin, Nicky B, Johan, Squid, Chamakh, Diaby, Denilson and a few more, we should have room to bring in quality.
