Ronaldo has played in a competitive league, Messi hasn't. So we don't know if he could handle that or not. We've seen him in the CL where he's been hot and cold. He played well against us in one match and was anonymous in the game where we would have soundly beaten them had it not been for their purchase of the referee.

He'll be the top scorer in the Champions League for the fourth season in a row in all likelihood. I must've missed the game where we would have soundly beaten them, was that the game he had a wrongly disallowed goal? Or the game where he scored twice.

And as for a non-competitive league, well that's just plain laziness. Should we take away Ronaldo's goals against Derby from 07/08 given the relative strength of that team, how about Wigan, a side that has never even garnered a point against Man Utd! Let's not say a bad word about the 'BLitW' though.

I've never actually asked you this but what does he have to do to be better than Ronaldo, or is that just the players they are? It shouldn't be win a World Cup because Ronaldo hasn't done that either!

As for Fat Ronaldo, he was brilliant. And we could have had this thread about Ronaldinho too but both ultimately had their problems and I suppose that plays in even more to why there's a reticence of calling anybody in the current era the best ever.
