That's why I'm never bothered about 'we only got £16m for Henry' or 'we only got 30 for Fabregas' or whatever. If I thought our transfer spending was more closely linked (line, say, Tottenham's definitely is), I'd be more interested. As it stands, whether we lose RVP for 8 or 30, for the fans it's the same difference.

You could make the argument that we already spent the RVP money, whatever it might end up being, on his direct replacement(s) - Giroud and Podolski.

But yeah, the bottom line is that we spend next to nothing in net terms on transfers. While that means we are well behind most other teams in the premiership, it also would indicate that we use the money on players sold on more players. Though it may seem like it, we aren't pocketing £20m a year on transfer fees. By the same token, we aren't chucking in an extra £20m per year either.

Ajax are ready to make a move to sign Arsenal winger Ryo Miyaichi on loan for the 2012-13 season, De Telegraaf reports.

The Japan international spent the second half of last term in a loan stint at Bolton, with opportunities in Arsene Wenger's first team limited.

Ajax coach Frank de Boer is thought to be in the market for a new wide-man and missed out on Luciano Narsingh, who recently moved to rivals PSV from Heerenveen.

With Miyaichi having acquired the experience of playing in the Eredivise after a temporary spell at Feyenoord in 2011, the Amsterdam giants are weighing up a move for the 19-year-old.

The decision is believed to be in the hands of Gunners boss Wenger, who will choose whether to keep him in north London or send him to Netherlands to earn more first-team playing experience.

It's not a money issue but rather a squad space for first team registration issue...or so I gather.
