    ...and it was turned down.
But Malaga is not willing to facilitate the departure of its star and initially referred to the clause in the player, which amounts to 45 million euros. The club's own coach, Manuel Pellegrini, expressed his rejection of the sale of its football players: "Sell it for 20 million euros is given away, do not think the club is in a position or intention to do so." http://www.as.com/futbol/articulo/ar...sdaiftb_27/Tes

I think that was our first bid (if you believe the rumours). Our first bid was supposedly 20m euros which is about £15.5m and the above quote says it was rejected. We've now supposedly gone back with a second bid of £18m - sounds like typical Arsenal bidding style.

Doubt he cares. Gave us Diarra and Gallas when we were in the same league. By all accounts Sahin is nowhere near his plans. I doubt we're really in for him to be honest. Be happy if we went all out for Cazorla if he's the one Wenger's wanted for a few years. Dunno much about him besides being ugly and Spanish, but he consistently makes the international squads so must be quite good.

Yeah, my reasoning's along the same lines. If you're a midfielder making the Spanish squad these days you've got to be bloody good. €23m represents a serious offer in any case.

I would be surprised if we actually sign, and we if don't it's not on Gazidis or the fault of anyone at Arsenal this time. When Arabs took over Malaga, Carzola was their big signing, and they wanna be seen as serious club, and not some club that can be pushed around by one of the old guards. So they are gonna play hardball.
