Actually I think xabi alsonso is the only player of note we've missed out on because we wouldn't pay the extra.

We missed out on Mark Schwarzer when Almunia was stinking up the place for 1 million, I think... shame really! What we couldve done with a GK with brains

Its always said that we've missed out on players because of our penny pinching, when the only knowledge we have is that of alsonso.

We missed out on Angel D'Maria too due to penny pinching. It was quite widely reported.

We've definitely got form for it. I'm not talking about us overpaying millions on players, but being a million pounds short of the valuation and refusing to budge on principle is stupid IMHO.

TBF I think he means that we should just accept that he's probably worth 14million in the current market and complete the loan to buy deal.
