He and the club take us for mugs when they do that. I agree with the comments about struggling with football, its a business, and a shit one at that. Coupled with that, you have the modern day footballer, people like cashley cole etc who arent loyal, and just chase the $$$$$.

Replacing Song would have been enough to say it was a break even transfer window. The squad would have been slightly weaker considering it was unlikely RvP could carry the team for two seasons running. But to not even do that much. That's greed on a new level. GW is more fun than the actual game. Haven't seen a game so far this season. Don't miss it a bit. Haven't been enjoying it for years but could never accept it. I suppose RvP helped out in that respect. A slap around the face to wake up.

i have, probably more out of habit but the fun isn't there anymore. the game starts, then ends. move on. i unfortunately got my teenage son hooked on this shit so it would wrench him to pull the plug now, so in his naivety i'll let him enjoy all the big moves etc but i'll teach him the bigger picture over time.

fans aren't stupid. this summer they will have seen exactly what has happened and they will finally turn against management. selling rvp to our bitter rivals will have tipped many over the edge and rightly so. additionally, he sanctioned the departure of song which is fine but not replacing is ludicrious.i refuse to believe the board did not sanction players for wenger, who is our longest and most successful manager ever. we have made another profit yet again and our team is an arteta injury away from crumbling. on top of that, chamakh is still here as our second choice striker. they've made a bed and now they must lie in it. they'll feel the full force of fans displeasure this season as we'll probably end up winning nothing and we'll have to scrape for top 4 again. that's not good enough and doesn't wash with fans anymore. don't kid yourselves, this time it's down to wenger.

Of course fans are stupid and it will be seen next summer when season tickers get renewed and the same cycle is complete.

Doubt the board cared about players coming inm infact im sure they were delighted when they heard no one was coming in. if you think they are not happy with this and sanctiond signigs then why won'tthey sack the manager in the morning.

True but he cited a lack of ambitious that has been 100% vindicated by this transfer window: one step forward, two steps back - but all fine as long as the money keeps rolling in. Why would any world class player want to come here whilst that's the club's vision.

I still firmly believe this is wenger not the board - he lost it after abramovich, and seems determined to prove you can win a trophy without investing a penny. Fortunately for him, he's found a board happy to go along with the vision because it pays off the debt and massively increases the sell-on value of their shares. Everyone's a winner, non?
