That was only after Adebayor himself was pushing for a move when he heard of Barcelona and Milan's interest. He began pushing for a move, a "chance" to join one of the biggest clubs in the world, his own words, Guardiola admitted they could not meet Arsenal's valuation, Milan dropped their interest and City swooped in. Because of the unrest and his bad attitude, Wenger decided to cash in and sell him to city, there's no innocent Adebayor here. If he was committed to Arsenal he wouldn't have actively courted the interest from Barca and Milan, even asking Arsenal to sell him, that it would be in the best interests of the club to make a profit.
There is no way he was pushed out. Cause and effect, he brought it on himself. Have you forgotten his lackluster performances in his final season, when he clearly showed that he didn't want to be here? Was that the club forcing him to play like he didn't care?
