To be fair he's pretty damn lucky to be where he is, a year ago he wasn't even playing for Charlton, not many players like him would be in a top clubs 1st team.

You can't expect him to complain, he must be in dreamland right now, in addition he's not high profile enough to hanker for a move and isn't wanted by other big clubs, not saying that he will be in future just saying that you can't compare him to the top players we've lost who have basically had plenty of options.

IMO way too much is being said about how good our defence is so far, we've done well in the 1st few games but it's early days and I did think we looked a bit dodgy yesterday at times, we got away with one definite penalty appeal (gave one away which Verm admitted was as he didn't touch the ball) and gave them two easy chances to score against a team who have really struggled so far this season.

All in all satisfactory work but people are getting a bit carried away with our start.

i'd much rather have him in the team than any of the other mercenary fucks in our ranks.

I don't think anyone is getting carried away.

There is no harm in being pleased though, and giving it a bit of

We do support Arsenal you know. It's nice when we're playing well.

The thing is though we have no idea if in future he'll be loyal or not, he may well be but at this stage there's no way of telling.

If he turns out to be top notch and Barca or another top club show interest then we'll see what he's made of.

I think we see this every season to be fair (at some stage). Yes it's great we've started reasonably well (we didn't play well yesterday though, certainly not in the 2nd half) but a few games isn't really a good reflection on what has and hasn't changed.

Last season we had a mare for the 1st few games and look how that changed after the initial bad run.

very true. the biggest worry is getting near the ****s in the england team.

at the moment though, we can only go on what he is currently doing and where he has come from.

if fans really want a player to believe in on the pitch, this is the guy.

may not ever be the best in his position - even in the club - but as it stands playing for us means more to him than anyone else in the squad and that is a rare thing.

it should be appreciated far more in times when so many fans are disillusioned with the club.

Read through the match thread. Everyone is saying the same thing as you about last night in terms of thoughts on the game.

    But most people are happy.

Happy doesn't equal getting carried away. It equals "Yes!! We won!! Arsenal "

Just because you're not happy, doesn't mean everyone else can't be.

This kid grew up in the Highbury terraces...he's whole family are gooners...not too much question about his loyalty. Let's just hope he continues to progress as he's been doing.
