Merts made several important interceptions in the first half. Like he always does.
Faded in the 2nd half but then so did everyone.
Though i suppose tbf to him he had to keep an eye on the shit that is Santo's and it did not help TV5 was darting up the field instead of staying back.
Drop Santos start Kos and CB with Merts and put TV 5 at LB.
He was out of step with his teammates in the first half.
Bould brought him back in line at HT.

Yeah lets keep Santos ant LB. Tv5 likes to dart up the field, so until Gibbs gets back id put him at LB, rather him then santo's.
Kos and merts play well together.
I'd put Gibbs there.
It's better to burn out, than to fade away.
When he's injured?
Yeah, Merts was good for the first half and the 1st goal wasn't his fault at all. He had his man covered. Although we were playing the offside trap, Verms was supposed to at least know where Huntelaar was but he didn't. I think both Jenks and Santos was playing him onside. Wasn't a commanding performance from our captain but he was gutted about the loss and I'm sure he'll look at the tapes and try to sort his game out.
Impossible to tell from where i was sitting who played Huntelaar onside and i havent and wont see a replay so guess il just have to take peoples word on here
