    You can't judge the potential of Ryan's international career on that performance. He was thrown in at the deep end to say the least, and it was all unfamiliar territory. He was the shadow of what he does week in and week out as we all know. I also believe that he's man enough to get over it and whatever damage to his confidence that Roy Hodgson fails to repair, tony Pulis will make good.

    Whatever the performance and the score I was so proud to see the Stoke captain grace an England shirt.
