Spot on. I have always said all along, ******* is in a comfort zone, he doesn't ask the board for money and spends misely, at the same time bring in the riches of qualifying for the chumps league, however if he did sign marquee players and a significant amount of funds were released to back him, the board would expect to win the league, but he knows he can't compete with the top end managers and would fail, hence the board would realise thier manager has indeed lost the plot.

Even if by some miracle we did get Goetze. Wenger wouldnt know what to do with him. Probably play him at LB or convert him to a DM. After the debacle of Reyes and Arshavin, young flair players would be wary of coming here. What is he doing with Eisfeld anyway, so much talent there but he prefers to play Ramsey.

The problem we have is that the likes of Djourou, Chamakh and Bendy are on such healthy wages that clubs are frightened to buy them and also maintain their salary expectations.

This is one of the reasons why we can't shift the dross. We have a lot of it too...and for all our talk of being financially prudent, it's ludicrous that we have around 6 players who are surplus to requirements yet command 60K per week. Sad thing is they are all rubbish players too.

I can see Gervinho going the same way, Arsene should swallow his pride and sell the boy this summer before his stock is really low.

this is very very poor management on Wenger and Ivans (or whoever was involved). with all the talk about not having money (im not buying it tho) and not being able to afford players, the club sure go along way to waste it on players who dont even feature for the club. we arent even talking about 1-2 players we are talking about around 6!! this is inexcusable, unacceptable and Wenger and the other guy who signed these contracts should have thie asses fired for this alone. i dont think there is one other professional club in all of sports who would allow for that to happen.
