You forget. Given it is a rumour that Nasri will sign a new deal, the doomsayers will diss it. If it was a rumour that he was going anyway, they would be spouting it as a sign of Wenger's incompetence.

If he does sign, it will be evidence that Wenger has shown weakness by caving into demands and the fact that it would now require a huge transfer fee to prise him from us will not matter anymore.
