Not so sure you can sell a player to a club they don't agree to go to.
Then it's a simple case of telling him Barca aren't paying what we want so he either stfu and plays for us or he can go elsewhere.

Football is littered with transfers of players who want to go to a specific club but end up going elsewhere. Cesc is nothing special to think he could be different. Unfortunately Wenger bends over for Barca time and time again

I don't quite remember how long a contract the **** had remaining, but he'd then probably see it out and then move there on the free.

I still say if he wanted to leave that badly for his boyhood club to the point where it started to affect his performances for us, and shit was being stirred by the Barca ****s to unsettle things and force a move, then yes, sell the ****. Price not being right is another story, but maybe Wenger genuinely thought that he wasn't worth much more - seems he's been proven right as Cesc has been a bit shit in a Barca shirt.

    Fuck off Stan!
We were a selling club before Stan. We sold Overmars, Petit and Anelka in back to back seasons during the Highbury years. When the big clubs come knocking we often to buckle. We eventually sold Vieria, Henry and Cole …Flamini, Ade and Hleb….we always end up selling our best players. It’s not anything new.

There's a big difference I think. We used to sell based on age or because we'd taken a relatively obscure/ out of favour player and turned him into a hot item. In then end clubs like Barca and Madrid have a bigger pull than Arsenal (plus more cash of course) so we lost some players in those directions. Since the great stadium rip-off we've been selling for financial reasons. It has obviously been part of the plan and the quality of the team has collapsed as a result. It's unpardonable. Kroenke has zero excuses for his behaviour. An utter **** who has sunk his money into the previous rats but refused to invest a penny in the club itself. Wait and see how much this **** walks out the door with.

But those players (Petit, Overmars, Anelka) were adequately replaced, yes? And we went on to even greater things post them. Now, since Stan's arrival, we've only sold our top top quality, making us well and truly adopt a feeder club status.

Every club sells, but there is a difference between top clubs and minnows in how they handle player sales and purchases.

Na$ri = Adebawhore, and will end up the same. Why do both players seem obsessed with talking about AFC? Because they both know that in terms of their development they jumped ship too soon.

Blatantly obvious the way this profiteering bastard Kroenke goes around fleecing sporting outfits. He needs to GTFO our club NOW!
Kroenke has been here since 2011 as an owner.. we have been shit and selling our players before that. It's just lazy excuse to blame Kroenke for everything. He is probably the reason why there was a global recession, cancer, Aids etc
Arsene Wenger, the only football manager that got paid 8 million quid to do nothing but sit on his arse..

Exactly. We sold Cole, Henry, Reyes, Hleb, Flamini, Adebayor, Toure....that's all before Kronke. We were on a downward spiral before he arrived and why players like Henry, Pires and Ljungberg were unhappy with our transfer policy. If you go back and read their quotes and complaints about the club, it's deja vu. They weren't happy with the youth policy. We can't forget Henry's outburst before the Spurs game about SWP or Gallas saying we needed experience. Freddie took a swipe at the policy before he left for West Ham. The Cesc and Nasri sales were pretty similar to the Flamini and Hleb sales. It kicked the wind out of the team caused serious problems and Wenger had to rebuild the team again. The same way we looked flat and void of life back then after nearly winning the league is the same we started off last season and this season. The transfer activity has been a lot different compared to what we used to do. Wenger would promote the kids after a sale but that isn't happening anymore because the well is dry.

Stan was drawn to the club and attracted because of the model that was put in place as soon as we set our eyes to moving to a bigger stadium. It was a massive con and exactly why we started to stockpile young talented players and invest heavily into our youth team/training facilities. I can agree with that but he's only been in charge since 2011. You can say we used sell on age back during the Highbury years, true to an extent, but the average age of the team has gone down and guys like Cesc and RVP have played more seasons for us than guys like Sol, Ljunberg and Pires. They were deeply unsatisfied players and wanted out. None of us here believes for a second that Kronke knocked on their doors and said they're being sold to balance the books, do we? I'm not buying the BS Nasri is trying to spin.
