And I'm sure Utd can hold on for two weeks before announcing a new boss too.....it's only media pressure, else they probably wouldn't have announced it until the end of the season anyway.
It's more to do with due diligance for the NYSE, they've got very strict rules on company announcements that may affect share prices.

Mourinho and Pellegrini are the only managers with anything like the kudos of SAF - and Mourinho would have the ego to step into SAF's shoes. But neither will go to United if SAF stays on in any capacity.

...Somehow it seems hard to believe that SAF is ready to go altogether....
Would Moyes be happy with playing the John Major role with Fergie driving from the back seat? I don't think any top manager at a top club would be happy with that.

    So it actually happened.

The league is going to be poorer without him and he's cemented himself as one of the greats of the game.

But from our point of view this is a good thing, especially if Man Utd appoint a Souness like catastrophe that takes them down a few levels. It may give us a fighting chance at the league as long as Man City and Chelsea continue to flatter to deceive. Hopefully it's Moyes and not Mourinho.

I wonder how Wenger feels about this. After all the bitterness and feuding they once had, they seemed to become very good friends - in fact I wouldn't be surprised if Ferguson regarded Wenger as his closest managerial friend. It's a shame they never really ignited their rivalry much post invincibles.
