As for signing Rooney, I agree he'd be a wreck after 30 and is past his best, however if we signed him he'd be our best player by a mile and we'd get a couple of good years out of him.
That couple of good years will probably cost us £50m so it's a non starter. Plus Rooney would never want to join us.
Pardew has said he doesn't care if they lose 4-0 to us.
That bodes well. But we'd probably end up drawing 4-4 anyway.
I think Newcastle also had their keeper sent off so they'll have their 3rd choice keeper against us.
