Yes, that is the worry but after all the stuff they've spouted about being able to compete now we're going to look pretty bloody stupid if we end up with some 17 year old French kid again.

As usual we'll probably make most of our signings at the 11th hour to grind down the transfer price. I don't mind it that much as long as we do actually make the right signings, but I wont be holding my breath.
Only the dregs are available at the 11th hour, it's highly unlikely that any high profile transactions will be made. I'd rather us not sign anyone than go scrambling around the bargain basements looking for cast-offs.
We still have a load of deadwood in the squad that nobody wants to touch even though we're practically trying to give them anyway, no more thanks.
If we go as early as the 11th hour it will be a bonus. Wait until the 12th then put in a request for an extension. Then everyone can pull a sickie and say they tried their best but had to go to bed on doctor's orders.
