All the stories seem to stem from a (huge sigh of relief) Daily Star article. £4mill fee plus £75K pw for one year with option for second years depending on how incredibly shite the **** is (second year guaranteed then). I don't see the big issue. The best Bender alternative out there.

So many issues it's hard to know where to start.

First there's this claim we have £70mill to spend (yes I know, but just humour me) - I'd assume that fantasy figure is fees and wages. Then you add back the wages of the shit we've managed to flush so far (not nearly enough but something is better than nothing). That's the alleged, supposed, speculated pot we have to work with. Do we want to give Gareth Fucking Barry (GFB) around £4mill of that with another £4mill going to city?

Then there's the message we send. We sell our best players to our rivals and buy cast-off shite from them in return. The cheapskate, selling club tag remains.

He's a shit player, slow, brain dead, a donkey. How does he possibly fit into our style of play. So okay, our style of play is now shite, slow, brain dead but are we finally accepting that's the way we want it by bringing in the likes of GFB, or are we going to try and repair our game?

Yes, he's likely to be cover and not a starter (but let's not give Wenger the opportunity eh?), so why not promote somebody through the squad instead? Far better to give one of our own a chance to play backup than bring in GFB.

Then there's the fact he's an epic ****. I assume no explanation is required on this one.

I'm sure there's more but the above is enough. Benayoun was a laugh, but this isn't even a little bit funny.
