I think that's a bit unfair tbh. We could go out and buy Soldado tomorrow but Suarez is better so we're rightly trying to sign him instead. Now if we had pots of money we could have signed Soldado and tried for Suarez as well but we don't.

When you're trying to buy super super quality it is difficult because the selling club don't want to sell and other clubs are inevitably interested in the player.

I still think we'll sign a couple of excellent players this window, but I think we'll miss out on Suarez and sign a star midfielder instead.

Sure, we are going for top tier players but if we don't sign them then what's the point?

I accept that signing top tier players is more complicated but we're getting extremely close to the season kick off and as it stands the team that finished at Newcastle is going to be our starting XI.

Signing top tier players in the last few weeks let alone last day of the Window is pretty much a "no no", selling clubs want replacements lined up and assurances that they can replace their star players.

I'm pretty sure if we don't make any major moves in the next few weeks then that's it, we're stuck with what we have.

Yep, exactly how I feel LDG. I'll be honest, I'd rather us not sign anyone than go rummaging around the "bargain bin" in Ligue One on deadline day.

I don't want anymore "squad fillers" or "development players" paraded as proper signings.

From Wenger's interview, it sounds as if we're not close to signing anyone and he's fine with that. He's going for the long gamble again.

I doubt it personally, it's not the 1st time we've chased one player only to fail and have no backup plan.

It's starting to get a bit worrying now, it's gone quiet again. I guess we will know more on both Suarez amd fabregas by end of the week, judging by some reports. It's getting concerning but hopefully club will still pull the big deals off. I don't buy NQ's bollox about us 'pretending' to in order to appease the fans because
a) It's not working and
b) If they don't sign anyone of note people will only be more pissed off, a half arsed "well, we tried" isn't going to cut it and they know it.
