What Champions League chances?
Even with Suarez they have no chance of getting top four, this is a side who have spent the summer buying strikers who play for B Sides in Spain and have a midfield that's actually worse than ours (almost hard to imagine). They have replaced Jamie Carragher with the only player whose probably got less pace than him now in Kolo Toure...to imagine that Liverpool will make the top four is the same kind of wooly thinking applied where people believe United have any chance of winning the title because they are the current champions.
Ferguson was to United like Wenger is to us, dithering clown he might be but there are few other managers who could get our joke of a side into the top ten let alone the top four....and Moyes hasn't the ability to get an average United side to perform or bring in star quality to bolster his ranks.
It doesn't matter what you perceive their top 4 chances to be, that's their goal and strengthening the team they most likely need to usurp is not an option they'd like to take.
Any chance we can give them Wenger?
He has a habit of selling his best players to the clubs we are trying to reach
Personally i think this should have run it's course ages ago, i think we need to be scouring Europe for the best players possible to improve our squad (and i don't believe we have done that in any kind of meaningful way). We should be doing to Anzhi Throatclear what we did to Malaga last summer by indulging them in their fire sale...Willian, Ahmedov, (even Lassana Diarra ffs).
We need bite in midfield but we also need creativity for me arguably more than we need a striker, plus we need defensive cover....goalkeeper don't care about i am happy with Szczesny.
I would also be trying to make forays into Serie A, it strikes me that we are looking for someone who can play wide and support the lone striker rather than an out and out forward (which makes me believe that's the reason as well as transfer price that we lost interest in Higuain)....i fancy a bid of 25-30m for El-Sharaawy would make Milan seriously consider....and then take a look at Paul Pogba who for me looks like the closest thing there is to being the new Patrick Vieira (other than Yaya Toure of course and we all knew what happened there).
