I didn't know much about him if I'm honest, I know they rated him very highly at Southampton though (but then they did Theo as well so....). I can see what you're saying but other than Oxo I don't really see players with huge potential like Bale has, Ramsey had a bad injury and that hindered him and perhaps he'll improve, the rest though I can't see it.
Wenger has been saying the same for years, it's helped him make excuses as to why we haven't signed quality, he doesn't want to spend money on players and this suits his agenda tbh.
Bear in mind you don't hit your peak until about 27 so there's certainly still time for our players. What they need is to be supplemented with 3-4 ready made world class players now.
