He still thinks the media are the caused the fans anger, not his obstinate humbug about trying to prove, he can do without improving his squad and still compete with the other teams going for the league. It's embarrassing to think that the only way we'll get top 4 this season is cos of another Spuds collapse rather than our own doing cos Spuds will not collapse one season and then we'll be fucked. This might be the season.
We need players in asap
This is a language thing, he doesn't mean brainwashing in the normal, "This is the BBC", sense. He means the endless repetition of filler fluff which then finds its way into the fans' vocabulary. I'm guessing the lack of trophies is a much bigger problem for the media than the fans. From what I can tell we want to see entertaining and competitive football that warrants the very high prices being demanded. It's good though if people are angry at the suggestion they are brainwashed because it's rare to find somebody who isn't, maybe not in terms of sport but certainly in terms of news, history, etc, etc. I do hope people are as angry about that because it's much more important and really does become a matter of life and death on many occasions.
