The position is rarely the problem, especially with talented players like Vela or Arshavin. It's either their lack of motivation or application or not fitting into a playing style or system.
The only time this 'Wenger played them out of position' thing has merit is when it's batshit crazy like Bendtner/Ramsey on the right wing or Eboue in central midfield.
