was there any other player out there who could have untied the fan base with such excitment over their signing then ozil?
thats not to say there arent good players, suarez, fabregas and rooney all would have been great signings but wouldnt have had 100% support like ozil does.
who else would have done what the ozil signing has done? i think of about 2/3 players. falcao, di maria and higuain

on a serious note, im not saying those three players are on the same level as Ozil but i think would have created a huge buzz too, maybe not as much but still pretty exciting
Now that we're buying from Madrid & Ancelotti may have pissed a few of the players off with the Ozil situation we should try the waters with a Jan bid for Varane. He's under contract & he'll cost but he WILL be the worlds best defender with 2/3 more years maturing.

Marca is apperently running a story, that Özils father is trying to ruin his career, that he wanted to stay at Madrid but his father persuaded him to leave for arsenal and so on... Seems like Madrid are trying to save grace through their good friends at marca.
