We weren't great at times, but they most certainly didn't boss the game.

You have completely missed the point as i would expect though.

They didn't dominate us at all. We had more possession and more chances. Chesney had a very quiet evening with the boys in front doing a great job for most of the match. The difference was that we fucked up once more than them.

We were sucker punched. I thought we looked a lot better when Cazorla came on and we could have won.

Oh well, it's only the CL! We can afford a loss here.

Dont care about the result as long as it doesnt affect us in the PL. Thats what should be our no.1 priority. Hopefully the team will not have a fall out from this loss... we usually do!

    Yup.

Felt a bit sorry for Gibbs. Had a cracking game, and you could see the worry on his face when he tried to track back. He got caught in two minds whether to track the runner or go to the ball. That split second cost us.

Quite a bit was down to run of the ball. They managed to get a toe in just in time. On other days we win that one.

Was more concerned first half where we were unsure how to play it. Addressed that after 30 mins and the had the best of the 2nd.

Zimm misses the point, that a lot of our game this season has been to let the opposition have the ball more, be patient and hit hard and fast. We just couldn't get that killer ball off.

Much more to come from this lot, and deapite the sucker punch, we showed we are just as good as Dortmund.

Oh, and Lewandoski should have been off. And Giroud showed more quality than him, tbf.

This is where I think Flamini is better than Arteta IMO. Flamini would just give Gibbs a shout to cover the runner whilst he himself take the one being mark by Gibbs.

Dortmund started much better than us and that set the tempo for the first half. I thought we just stod off them and waited to see what they could do instead of actually going for it like we did against Napoli. Arteta kept passing it to one of the CBs instead of forward and resorted to short passes to the back all game which made Dortmund comfortable and played into their game plan. I have to say the way the press high up the pitch is fantastic and we didnt have an answer to it. yesterday was ideal for Theo as Dortmund pressed us and left plenty of space in behind (knowing we had no real pace). we lacked an outlet.

2nd half, esp towards the last 20 minutes we seemed to take the game to them and the introduction of Cazorla was timely as Jack was shite.

I think we're more dangerous away from home this season and i can see us getting a result at their place.

I thought we were on top for large parts of the 2nd half. Dortmund didn't control the game at all, they controlled the first 15 minutes or so and their movement and passing was largely superior to ours in terms of effectiveness, but they didn't control the game.

I do agree though that we're not yet a top tier CL club, there is no shame in that. Dortmund for me are a superior team and a tier one CL club along with the likes of Bayern, Barca and Real. On current form we sit in the group behind with the other Prem clubs, though you could argue that Man City and Chelsea are superior to us, especially in terms of Squad depth.

The acid test will come when we face the likes of Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea et al in the Prem to see how far we have come.
