But as others are saying, Pogba would be ideal. He will be as good as Yaya Toure (if he isnt already), but seems to have more discipline when being played as the holding midfielder. Juventus have already said they will never be able to offer him more than smth like 70k/week, so they know the richer clubs will get him one day. We should call them up, offer 40m and offer him 80k+/week. I think he would love to come here and help us win something and rub it in ManU's face for not playing him :D

Pogba is certainly not in Toure's class yet, though if he becomes half the player, he will would have done well.

He's not the sit and hold type of player really, even if he is good in defence and attack so it is interesting that many see him as an ideal replacement for Arteta/Flamini.

In would take quite a spectacular set of circumstances to see him here too, even if Juventus are not likely to hold onto him.

I would be surprised if Wenger isn't keeping a very close eye on the situations of Gundogan and Matuidi.

He was playing holding midfielder/deep playmaker when he won best player at the u21 world/euro cup last summer (dont remember which cup it was) and when Pirlo was injuried, he played the same role for Juventus, beasting Drogba most of the game vs galatasary. He would be ideal to play the same role as Arteta is playing for us right now, except he is stronger and faster.

Only in unlikely circumstances is Wenger going to buy someone from the Premier League.

It is sickening. In any other era, on a level financial playing field, we certainly would not have gone so long without a trophy. The introduction of sheikhs and russian gangsters has ruined football. You only have to look at the latest Deloitte 'football rich list', City, Chavs and PSG above Arsenal? PSG in Lique 1 apparently have higher revenues than us, playing at the Parc Des Princes?? Give me a break.

    We're being linked with:

Vucinic (Juve are getting Osvaldo from Soton)
Matuidi (CDM/CM from PSG, free to leave in the summer, PSG got Cabaye, they'd rather sell now)
    Tello/Griezmann (wingers)
    Draxler

Even getting atleast 2 from that list, albeit Vucinic is abit shit, would help our title challenge

Saw a link to Khedira as well.

NOTE: The location of this post has been moved and the thread title (which was previously Wenger is Leaving) has been manipulated by a notorious pro-Wenger moderator. What was previously a message that contained no profanity and made a comment on a real life event has now been manipulated by a deliberately provocative title. An old and crude propaganda and censorship technique.

One was in a tournament several levels below what we would be asking of him and the other was merely through expediency. I suspect the player has the nous to sit and hold over the Arsenal, but what I'm kind of intimating (I guess) or questioning is whether or not that is in fact the best role for him to play given his qualities?

A little like people pigeon holing Vieira calling him a defensive midfielder..... He certainly had those qualities, but he had so much more, which is precisely why Arsenal fans will remember well that it was Gilberto and Petit who sat and hold (although to my mind he and Petit far more and uniquely alternated between them).

Never really going to happen though in my mind in any case and as Grebbo mentioned, it is hard to imagine Wenger signing a player for a huge fee he could have twice signed for peanuts....and probably signed way before the red devils even knew who he was.

I know he previously tried to sign Ozil but on the latter of his failed attempts he would have been looking at 15 million + considering Real were in for him and eventually signed him for 12.5million. 15 million is being kind really....

I watched a lot of that for no particularly good reason and in most games he was comfortably the Best and most consistent performer on either side. Kondogbia held in that side while Pogba played in more of a progressive role, sort of the Ramsey to Kondogbia's Arteta.

A good player no doubt, but we don't seem interested. Tunisian looked more of an Arsenal style player to me.
