Well, I'm sure we could do better than United did. But you are right to point out how difficult the task is. And United are a case study for when you get it wrong.

I am worried about Gazidis's chances of getting it right.

Isn't Gazidis Wengers man anyway? My hunch tells me that Kronke will get rid of Gazidis when Wenger goes.....the model for Stan needs to be the same blueprint, and I'm sure they will be looking at a very similar replacement for Wenget.

And when Gazidis goes, he should take the Dick Law he rode in on.

Manure should have never allowed Fergie to pick his successor or they should have at least overrode it when they heard it was Moyes. There was nothing in his record or in his style of play to suggest he’d be able to handle United. Now they’re in a position where they’ll have to blow over £100m to get United up and running again. We can’t afford that sort of cock up. If we can’t attract a manager that has the experience of winning league titles and major trophies, we need to at least get someone in that can evolve our total football style philosophy. That’s what we should be looking for if we’re going for a wild card and giving a young coach their first shot. Liverpool haven’t done too badly with Brendan Rogers. It was a long shot and it’s early days but it’s looking good for them.

Ivan is smart enough to know we need a coach that can carry on tradition. It’s not possible for us to go from Wenger to a chequebook manager or someone who plays a totally different brand of football to our attacking style. Despite the long trophy draught, the rep we have for attractive football has kept the fans coming back and helps our international appeal. Even if he’s looking from a financial perspective, he wouldn’t go against the grain and risk losing money. We’ve got a successful business already in place.

If you believe the reports, Wenger was willing to spend a significant sum on Draxler (a 20 year old who has proven very little I hasten to add)....and an offer was turned down. That does not suggest he is not willing to bid big again or that Ozil was some scheme to placate fans. Wenger has little previous of being bullied into anything never mind transfer deals and I think he would sooner walk then have his arm twisted into it.

The Ozil deal as much as anything else is testimony to his career long near obsession with players of a footballing altruistic nature. He has always fancied players who are inclined to assist and knit the play in unique ways.

My concern is whether or not he is willing to polly fill all the gaps in the old plaster board wall rather than just a few of them before we go into a season. If he did that, I think we would see him resoundingly supported, in spite of his occasional tactical naivety and disposition for making subs based on energy levels/fitness alone.

How would people feel about Loic Remy comming here in the summer? Been reading rumours of him to join us in the summer. He's been a 1-in-2 striker in the premier league for QPR/Newcastle (Giroud is 1-in-3 for us :s), so no doubt he would be able to raise that to another level at our club with the chances we're creating, is alot better match with Özil aswell. In France he scored quite a bit of goals despite being used mainly on the wings.

Fine if he's being brought in as cover for our world class signing. If he's it, that won't be close to good enough. Haven't waited 10 years to see B listers.

I was all for us signing Draxler in January because we really needed an injection of something new, to some extent I would like him in the summer as well, but the more pressing need is that of a top class striker. If we got him and a top striker great, but if it was only Draxler I'm not sure how I'd feel, obviously it would be nice to have such a talent, but it wouldn't solve our problem.

I would be happy to welcome Remy here. He would improve our counter attacking and now the rape charge has been dropped we won't be hearing it as a constant reason to stay well clear. It's not like he really fancies Podolski.

Draxler I would suggest could be fast tracked into the CF role if that is indeed Wenger's plan for him as it seems he has quite the skill set.
