Not sure. Way I see it is that manure would have to pay 10s of millions for a player of Rooney's calibre - and then wages of half what Rooney's now getting, at least. And (Ozil, ahem) there's no guarantee that such signing would hit the ground running. Rooney's improved contract costs them less and there's no doubt he's their key player ATM.

I really really want Utd to get Europa league next season... I would love to see RVC run out against Balochistan Belgrade FC
Arsene Wenger, the only football manager that got paid 8 million quid to do nothing but sit on his arse..

That would be awlsome, but rest assured the Judas bastard would engineer a move out of old shatford before he affords us such luxury of unrelenting laughter.

Man Utd to play lucrative friendlies in the Far East and America next season to offset the loss of CL football apparently.

Bloody hell, I'm one of the main champions on here for us to exploit our commerical oppurtunies like Utd have done but even I think this is going way too far. It's going to make them look like a complete joke ........... more than they already are.

I think it's sensible really, plus they do this anyway even when they are in the Champions League.

They'd be foolish not to milk it really. As any club would be if they were in a position to.

They're crap now but they'll always be a commercial success, which means they won't be down for too long.

They already pissed on the FA Cup in the past to line their pockets. This is what's so funny, they are held up as the football establishment but really Ferguson never gave a fuck about the integrity of football, he just wanted to win whatever the cost. Fair or foul. This is what ran through the club until Moyes arrived. So it won't be quite the same milking the game when you aren't able to offset that by victory on the pitch. It will look cheap and desperate. Probably because it is cheap and desperate.

    New RVC interview
    http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footba...nstant-3221855

“As I have got older and more experienced, I have become more sensitive to what my coaches are doing,” said the Dutchman.

“I want to know why we are we doing this or why are we training like that.

“I did not ask those kinds of questions when I was a young player, but now I find it interesting to study why my coaches are making certain decisions.

“I want to know why they do things and why they say things to the players, and why they want to play a certain way.

“I think much more about all those things at this stage of my career. I watch the managerial process all of the time.

“I have had a lot of changes in coaches over the last couple of seasons.

“I was eight years with Arsene Wenger, at Arsenal, and, with Holland, it was a similar steady situation with Bert van Marwijk.
