You can use stats to make any player look good. There were fans who claimed Denilson was a valuable player for Arsenal because his pass completion % was high. Moreover, Cahill plays in the Premier League against teams that make more use of the long ball , and strikers who tend to be more powerful aerially than those in Germany, which partially explains why Mertersacker has a higher % aerial dual victory.

The skewing of numbers doesn't matter. What does is the fact that Bremen won 1 in 7 without Mertersacker.

cup tied, won't happen sorry :-( I am happy we didn't go after Santon. He'll play 2 games at Newcastle and show no grit and no commitment. Then in Jan he'll beg Italian clubs to come and get him, to which Milan will respond as they want to prove they can be better at handling him than us Inter.

If Villarreal go out of the Champions League (or us), I don't think he'd be cup-tied then. I mean obviously it's not going to happen but dammit, it is!
