For a long time I was hoping that he would move on and finish on a high with the FA Cup victory while leaving what essentially is a strong foundation for someone else.
But it's not to be. I was as much delighted for him that he finally won a trophy after what has been a challenging and frustrating era.
Maybe a renewed taste of victory, along with what should be financial freedom will give him a new lease of life. But I still think, what is missing and what could be our undoing over the next three years is a strong counterweight within the club to challenge and complement the skills that Wenger brings to the table.
