In all honesty I don't think we did a lot wrong, we've played worse in tournament games before and won. Tactically Italy were far superior, played the game at their own pace and we were limited to the odd chance on the counter. They crafted 2 top goals and closed the game out, we were never going to do anything in possession, nowhere near enough class.
Disappointing but bring on Uruguay.

Rooney was terrible there. Wilshere, Gerrard and Henderson had no influence. The key to the chances created in the first half was Sterling. But Woy decides to accommodate Wazza instead of telling him to do a job on the flank. Ran out of ideas in the 2nd half.
A long way to go? That depends on what happens in a couple of days.
