Wenger's a much, much better manager than Pellegrini, chequebook Mourinho or whatever other cunt that the daily mail promote. Don't forget that. When's the last time Wenger bought an established, quality striker? He thinks it's a position he needs to mould potential. We don't think Sanogo, Alexis, Campbell and Walcott are it but let's see.

It's squad depth more than anything. Having Sanogo anywhere near a starting place is the problem, he should be 4th or 5th choice vying with Akpom for cup games. Walcott is always injured, what's to say that trend won't continue? Alexis is 5' 9'' up against PL Neanderthals - a challenge to say the least. Campbell is an option but surely not for the starting spot if the club is really chasing a major honour? Giroud is it right now, realistically. Now he's injured and Wenger is talking up Sanogo. That's not really good enough, is it? At least one more dedicated striker required if we want to see out a long season. Just makes sense.

Well you have it all figured out on paper, but let's see the results. I think Alexis will kill it.

Why is he the better manager?

Yawn. I have to provide stats on how he has won trophies on more restricted budgets?

No you don't. I'm aware. But being able to manage a smaller budget/ developing players is just one aspect of football management. We can't always use that as the measuring rod. There always seems to be an assumption that he'd do better with a bigger budget but that's not always the case. Just look at David Moyes.

The only budget restrictions he has had are the ones he imposes on himself. Wenger has failed to retain a league title, has lost all Euro cup finals he has been in and been humiliated on the pitch more times than any self respecting manager should admit. He`s a good manager,,,but I doubt history will classify him as great.

I think he will too, but not playing as a lone target man. We'll need to change the way we play and give him a lot more support if he's going to be the main striker.

Play two up front tbh.. this lone man striker is BS for most games.
Arsene Wenger, the only football manager that got paid 8 million quid to do nothing but sit on his arse..

when we moved from higbury we were told off wenger and gazidis it was to compete with the worlds big boys financially.I didnt think they meant the likes of cardiff, everton and spurs.Just over 30 m spent two years in a row and now we are pennypinching.Got to laugh really how we have been taken in by all this.If that is all we have then the club is a joke.
