If they only care about money, they should be looking at it that way. But I'm not even sure it's even about greedy. Seems more like a misplaced loyalty to manager well passed his best.
Nah. There's a cold, hard numbers game going on here. If you view this in terms of a competitive sports team then everything that's happening is quite literally insane. But, apart from Wenger who definitely has something wrong with his head, the likes of Kronke and Gazidis aren't insane. They are corporateers. Modern day pirates. They oerate for one purpose, the sacred oath of the corporation - make as much profit as possible and incur as few costs as possible in the process. When all is said and done, that will be the goal of the Arsenal Corporation. We aren't inside and we don't know what the real agenda and business plan is. We get the PR and the spin and have to work things by piecing together the debris. But we're still all focused on results on the pitch, improving the team, competing for trophies. We have the wrong end of the stick which is why nothing makes any sense.

I'm more convinced than ever that 2019/20 is the real deadline at this club. That's why they have done the unthinkable, in football terms, and retained Wenger. They are all in this together, they each have their role to play. Stan will cash out at around the 2 - 2.5 billion mark and a dark and fiery figure will emerge from the pit and take control as we move into the gold plated ball of shit era of Euro League football. That's the play here. It's the only one that makes sense given what we are witnessing.

Balague has tweeted that Alexis will sign for City for £60m, on the basis that we sign Lemar.

And, what's more, when they cash out - Wenger will leave, for the good of the club and because he's a humble man that listens to the fans. And the fans will love him for it. And Kroenke will bow out - because he's doing the right thing for Arsenal and because he too loves the fans. And the fans will say, you know what, he wasn't all bad.

    Sickening.

We won't be signing Lemar and Alexis will go for 70 mill. This has been on rails for months.

And replacing Alexis with Lemar was never going to do anything for us anyway. I really hope the fans don't fall for it if we slip Alexis out the back door and bring in an inferior replacement through the front. And at this stage, all we can sign is an inferior replacement. And Wenger will fuck that player up and make him worthless anyway. I don't actually want to see that happen to Lemar. I like him the way he is now.

Surprises me that nobody has mentioned what is probably Wenger's biggest achievement. Henry. He was a winger when he joined, but Wenger turned him into a striker and gave him all his natural talent. And he did it at the same time he was building a stadium with his bare hands. Fucking impressive if you ask me.

Spot on Alexis provides goals, lots of them, this guy won't. Sad thing is we have our striker now in Lacazette (pot luck again as he was heading for Athletico, reckon Wenger only signed him because not other options were viable anyway) who will score goals, so with Alexis we would have had two genuine goal threats, if we lose Alexis we're back down to one goal threat and will be very reliant on Lacazettes' goals.

Lemar is a 21 year old kid who seem to be a creator more than a goalscorer anyway. This transfer window has been a total disaster however you spin it. 2 of our out of contract players seemingly on their way out despite the manager assuring everyone they wouldn't be sold, what does that make him?

We also have Welbeck who can play there.

Sky Sports saying the bid for Alexis is 55 mill

They are doing an Arsenal. Are they taking the piss? Will they go 60, 65 and then go all un-Arsenal and offer something that works. Or back out and declare they almost signed him?
