Felt a bit for Lacashite tonight. He’s being forced to do a lot of donkey work particularly in wide areas, his body language is that of a very frustrated bloke. Completely starved of service and feeding off scraps.

It’s essential we get Aubameyang to help stretch play and leave Laca to play through the middle and get a sight of goal.

I wish we'd stop with the "Glad Alexis has gone", "We're better without Alexis", bullshit. It makes us sound super bitter about the whole thing and it hardly covers up for the fact we have consistently failed to keep our best players. What are we going to say in the summer whenif Ozil goes too? Same shit? Glad he's gone? Better without him?

We're signing replacements right now. At least I hope we are. We're a club that should be signing additions to talent we should have retained. And even if we sign Aubameyang, we'll still have made a profit over the two windows. That's not good enough. It should have been pay Alexis (way back when he asked) AND sign Aubameyang. And we should have already signed Lemar, we should have offered the asking price when he was available and not left it to some crazy bid at the death.

It is NOT a good window if we swap Alexis for Mkhitaryan and sign Aubameyang. It's an acceptable window, at best. Like a resumption of the policy we seemed to have when we signed Ozil and Alexis - with a huge damaging gap in between then and now. Past mistakes that have deprived the club of any sort of momentum for over a decade don't get washed by one transfer window where we are STILL pocketing cash.

What about a defender and a DM? Jonny Evans for 20 odd million? No thanks. Didn't we have Reus "lined up" if Alexis left? What happened to that?

Quarter of a billion in the bank. What's it doing there?

So now they have given Wenger the money and taken that huge risk, go all in. 6 days to go to get the squad sorted, or else we are going into the latter stages of Europe with a seriously dodgy defence and no steel in the middle. Needs to be sorted and we have the funds to do it. So sort it FFS.

And why has it taken so long to sign Auba? What's going on over there? Why are the days drifting and what is it with the stupid underbids? There's still a chance we'll come out of this window with only a swap deal of Mkhitaryan for Alexis and a fat fuck off transfer profit. 50/50 I'd say. I'm still waiting for the Aubameyang Deal Dead headlines, like the ones we usually see when we get in sniffing distance of a proper signing. Would they dare?

We pulled ourselves together last season to win the cup and that was with Alexis. This is just what we do when on the brink of disaster, we suddenly find some backbone and manage to steer ourselves in the right direction. Nothing to do with Alexis or any one player and everything to do with a lackadaisical mentality that runs through a team that picks and chooses when they want to turn up.

I'm a little concerned about Lacazette, though fair play to him, he kept going and played his part.

I'm excited about the possibility of signing Aubameyang but I tend to agree that even if we do sign him.....the window has been acceptable. There's just no getting away from the fact we have allowed our best player to go to a major rival in spite of making the best of a grotesque self created situation.

We're much better without Cashlexis Cuntchez.

The manager and board were correct to offload this waning waster.

We've already gone further in this Cup than we ever did with that sub-Arshavin lazy greedy fuck. Prospering without him instantly.

Why did we buy Lacuntzette? He doesn't suit our game at all.

He suited our game during the banter years when we were creating 50 chances a game and playing free flowing, attacking football. But he doesn't suit the modern Arsenal which is more pragmatic, rigid and creates 0.5 chances a game.

I wonder if Ty is still alive or whether he's wanked himself into a Wenger-induced orgasm.

It looks really disjointed at times and I don't think Xhaka suits our game at all as well as one or two others......but I'm willing to give it time with Lacazette.

Aubameyang is the guy I wanted us to go for in the summer but I was grateful we signed a competent goal savvy player in Lacazette so it's ironic we could end up with the pair of them!

I tend to think whether we like it or not, the best forwards we've had of the Wenger era tend to be able to drop into midfield periodically to make things happen or get the ball as well as the standard running off the shoulder forward player. It was partly that ability that made them so great. Lacazette isn't so great at that but he is good at small combination play in the final third and that has saved him from looking completely out of his depth recently.
