I wouldn’t care to comment too much

    1) haven’t been to a game in over two years and won’t go again whilst Wenger is manager

    2) Highbury wasn’t ever any better so not sure it’s really an apathy thing or gentrification thing (I’ve never known Arsenal tickets to be cheap). It’s our fans have never liked singing thing

I was talking about the real hard core Arsenal fans.

    Not you.

Well again...I fear you can’t complain about being priced out when you refuse to do any work and your only income stream is JSA.
Arsenal tickets are expensive, and the season ticket price is diabolical. But it hasn’t exponentially shot up.
Islington has always been a mixture of rich and poor, and Arsenal fans have always been fleeced

I didn't say it was a mystery, I said it was really weird.

That's what a decade of underachievement and unforgivable fuck ups does, the fans are now conditioned to expect disappointment which probably contributes to the lack of atmosphere. Obviously the wave of tourists, day trippers and new fans doesn't help either but there is a lot of apathy amongst the fanbase.

Though in all honesty Arsenal have fans have never been that vocal. I mean I join in with the songs and chants if they're going round but I wouldn't really feel compelled to stand up and start signing on my own. Doesn't really seem to be ingrained in our culture like it is at other clubs.

It’s also the endless turnaround of decent and reliable players.

When we were winning things and solid, we had players worth singing songs about, but they have been few and far between in recent years.

    Oh and Wenker of course.

We've never been the loudest but it seems as though it has gotten worse. I'm not a regular, but compared to the first game I went to at the Emirates compared with last season, it's subdued. But that's no excuse for the performances. Fans have just grown so tired of the crap it's sucked the passion right out of the air.

The curious thing is, is that our results in the league at home in the last season or two have been as good as they’ve ever been under Wenger (which is just as well for him as otherwise the shit show he’s running really would be fully exposed)

Which possibly suggests that fans have little bearing on the results on the pitch (which shits on Wengers notion two years ago that fans were affecting the performances at the Emirates).

The fact we had a player in the calibre of Sanchez and couldn't even be arsed to make a decent chant for him says it all tbh.
