I can't even remember what Monreal was like against City....but that is 1 game against possibly the best side the prem has seen a few months ago. Anybody else you've named in your back 4 is just as likely and in most cases more likely to cost us the game with a mistake than Monreal.

We've given up more goals through errant passes, poor positioning, awareness and sheer lethargy than lack of pace from any individual so I think you are placing too much consideration on that anyway.

I also think with that team and formation we are going to get outnumbered in midfield and allow Spurs to control the game. If they control the game they will feed Kane multiple times. If they feed Kane through multiple times he will definitely score. If we were a highly disciplined, drilled counter attacking team like Leicester were when they won the title I'd name a very similar team and formation to the one you have but not in our actual circumstances now.

The team you’d pick is even less defensively disciplined than mine

Putting Mkytarian at wing back....he’s a purely creative player. He won’t want to track back

Plus why should I trust your judgement on defensive positioning when you can’t remember a game from three months ago. Sterling is no more technically accomplished than anyone in the Spurs lineup and Monreal had a nightmare against him, whether we think Sterling dived for the penalty or not (I think Monreal was clumsy and played into Sterling’s hands to go over easy) he was given a torrid time.

The counter attack won’t work against Spurs. Because we have no one who can hold the ball up. So we have to do what we did at the Emirates and press them on the ball but that requires speed and agility in defensive areas to mop up if we lose possession in the first place

We really need Wilshere in midfield to ease the pressure and bypass their press. Otherwise, it will be a case of waves of attacks, with many of them coming because Xhaka/Ramsey/Ozil keep giving the ball away.

It feels like WUMger has just reverted to his laptop's preferred midfield though and Wilshere will be on the bench until Ramsey is out again or Xhaka gets himself suspended with a two-footer.

It would be good to see Lacazette and Aubameyang together, but Xhaka-Wilshere sitting deep, with Ozil-Ramsey-Mkhitaryan in front of them isn't too bad as long as Ramsey makes his usual runs and Mkhitaryan can get forward enough to support the striker too.

I have no idea what either blink or sherbert are arguing as I haven't read one word of their debate but with sherbert's track record I agree with what blink's saying.

    Also

Arsene Wenger casually firing shots at English players... https://t.co/evlcA9TWV3

    that smile at the end

Also you can’t read and when you write anything it’s being typed out for you by your mum like that 13 year old autistic child in “the reason I jump”

You don't have to trust my judgement.....I don't work for the club and you aren't Arsene Wenger. It's just my view. You expect me to remember the errors of a player in a game months ago (through the prism of your own interpretation of events)?.... the fact you're going that far back to highlight your point when we have been consistently inconsistent along with the fact you're desperate not to play the most consistent player this season should raise eyebrows about your judgement on the defence, not mine.

Bellerin has also given away a silly pen as well as others this season.....they practically take it in turns so I don't even want to get started on individual errors. Excuse me if I don't want our most consistent player out of the side for it. He's been far more to do with what has been good than bad.....I wonder if you watch games at all if you can't see that.

Man City was the last top six side we played away from home in the league, like spurs they like to press you on the ball and then come at you with pace.

Now Monreal might well have been our most consistent performer against the average wank that makes up most of the premier league, but when he’s been exposed for his lack of pace by strong attacking teams again and again and again in the five years he’s been here. I don’t really understand what it takes for someone to think, maybe we don’t want slow and immobile there for such games.

Aurier is a liability, hope he plays.

Aurier is just one example, and I use him because of how he tore Monreal to shreds when we played PSG

    It was embarrassing to watch
