I went to my first Arsenal match on 6th October 1971 - I had to wait 18 years and some dire football before we won the title. In practically the same amount of time, Arsene Wenger transformed the team into something exciting to watch, won 3 titles, 7 FA Cups and came within a few minutes of the CL (not to mention building a new stadium, training facilities, etc.)

Things were indeed getting stale in the last year or two and it is time for him to move on, but this is simply because everything needs refreshing to avoid stagnating. I find a lot of the comments made elsewhere by so-called fans disgraceful and ungrateful, given what this man has done for our club. I hope that we can win the EL this season to enable him to leave on a high and leave his follower with CL football as well as the PL. Mind you, whoever takes over is taking on a big challenge to match Arsene's legacy.

I hope the stadium will be full of cheering fans when he comes out for his final few games at the Arsenal.

I thank him for everything he has done for us and wish him all the best for the future (which I suspect will be as the France manager after the WC).
