Brendan Rodgers can do one.
Went back and forth with HCZ about this for ages. He owes me an apology.
Wenger was sacked but has been allowed to leave with dignity and he has a chance to leave on a high. I believe something happened after the international break where he was talking about 'age discrimination' to the press. His whole PR run with the press was defiant. He had no intention of leaving and was making it known. So I highly doubt he'd have decided to quit now, especially with all his talk on honoring his contract.
They had to pull the trigger on him. If left up to him, we'd have seen a scenario where he'd have after his contract was up during the summer giving the club hardly any time to find a replacement.
I think the other consideration is that candidates are available now who may not be there in 12 months time. Wenger never wanted to leave. Definitely pushed.

Martin Samuel and Jason Burt praising Wenger on Sunday supp![]()
Jason Burt summed Wenger up perfectly: 'he's someone that analyses other clubs perfectly, but fails to see things at his own club'

Souness isn't holding back on Wenger
@MattLaw:
Tarnished legacy.
Not a patch on Fergie.
Aloof.
Lucky to have lasted so long.
Souey puts in one of his tackles on Arsene Wenger in this column. He certainly isn't joining the queue of tribute-givers and well-wishers.
