I've never understood this. There is admittedly a little part of me that would want England to have Arsenal players and take a bit more reflected glory from them doing well but right now they're England players.
Couldn't give a monkeys who they play their club football for.
I don't know. I feel a bit that way. I'm finding it hard to be enthusiastic about this England team.

I felt that way before the tournament but, come on, they're in the semi-finals and given the other teams in it we actually have a chance here.
Head still says we're going to mess this up but I really enjoyed the way they played on Saturday. I'm actually enjoying the way they play and quite honestly other than a few key individuals I don't really know who they all play for anyway.
I’ve found it easier to warm to them because there are a lot of young players involved now, players who don’t have a history of tournament failure and underachievement. Yeah it’s a bit annoying that the key players are Spuds but as I said the other day, the England team has always contained rival players (and other players you don’t necessarily rate) so that’s nothing new.
It would be nice if more Arsenal players were involved but either you support England or you don’t, who the players are shouldn’t matter really.
Fuck the Spuds, these players are representing England and if they want to piggy back on the success of this World Cup then let them, we’ll only be laughing because they don’t have any success of their own to revel in.

I think this bunch of players is refreshing. They all seem to be proud to wear the shirt, I didn't see that from a lot of our 'Golden generation' and before. When Rooney was asked that quickfire thing, WC or CL, without a stutter, he said CL. Never liked him for England after that.
I don't care which clubs they play for, they are there to represent us, the English, and they get my support. Like Overmars, I wish we had more Arsenal in the team, but we don't, as he says, you either support England or you don't.

Letters, you, GP, MS, LDG and Maccy are about the only sensible posters left here. How can you not see this 'likeable' england team are being PR ordered to say and post the right things. This is all fake. Young, Alli, Maguire and half the England team are cunty, cheating bastards. Support England by all means, but lets not pretend this lot are any more likeable than previous squads. In fact, this lot are worse, because they have no talent. It's Harry Kane + 10.
