however Hamilton is the greatest driver not just because of the car, but how he gets performance out of it that others can't. Take the Turkey grand prix for example, they couldn't get it right at all but somehow he won by making his intermediates last (well they were virtually slicks by the end of it) yet other drivers couldn't match that performance. Each corner was taken perfectly so that he stayed on the racing line and he won.
There are other drives, too numerous to mention where he delivered drives no one else could have. Silverstone in 2008 where he finished a minute & a half ahead of everyone in the wet? Thats not a myth.
