Think these number 10, creative/between the lines type of players are a bit dated. Would prefer someone a bit more dynamic with tangible end product. He will struggle to make a serious impact in a team where most of the play is just geared towards the wide areas and getting crosses/cutbacks in.
I get the feeling the club are banking on Saka and ESR developing into that kind of player - they’re already there with the dynamic running and ball-carrying but, yeah, we need to start seeing consistent end product now.

Agree that Ødegaard is unlikely to come in and instantly start winning games single-handedly for us, but he’ll at least add much needed variety to our creative options as a passer who can unlock a defence, and he’ll add an extra body to allow us to rest and rotate those other two. (Hopefully having a 10 in there will also stop our 9 from having to keep dropping off to do the job leaving us with no one in the middle when the ball comes in!)

We actually need a striker.....Auba kept us in the top half of the table last season.

Agreed. But in the meantime actually playing Auba as a striker would help.

Also Lacazette is actually one of the most clinical strikers around once he gets in the box - the problem is he’s always stuck in midfield linking play so he’s not there half the time.

In both cases I think Ødegaard helps. It frees up ESR to play left or right attack (which I think will suit his all-action running style better than playing as a traditional 10), and it means there’s no need for either striker to keep dropping to link play.

Ornstein reporting that Ramsdale is pretty much done.

We've spent a lot of money this transfer window.
NOTE: The location of this post has been moved and the thread title (which was previously Wenger is Leaving) has been manipulated by a notorious pro-Wenger moderator. What was previously a message that contained no profanity and made a comment on a real life event has now been manipulated by a deliberately provocative title. An old and crude propaganda and censorship technique.

Yep! Not quite Wenger "Top, top signings" unfortunately. Hey ho.

    Auba was shit last season.

He kept nobody in the top half of nothing.

He has the touch of a rapist, can’t pass, and is past his best. Get rid
It's better to burn out, than to fade away.

Spending 30m on Ramsdale a year after flogging Martinez.

    This club is weird.

Got a good contract when it counted though - which is what really matters.
