And on our 500th game at the Emirates stadium no less

Certainly less dramatic than the previous two home wins against them

    Poor first half, excellent second.
Utd did very well to contain and frustrate us in the first half.
Soon as we got the goal they had to open up a bit and we pummelled them after that. Get in!

Well Today, we were always going to end up in 3rd with the way Chelsea has been playing.... I'm just glad its only due to goal difference.

    Champagne Stoke

Our set piece threat is quite hilarious.

Good win and encouraging to cut a little bit of the gap on Liverpool.

At the risk of sounding like I’m damning them with faint praise, I don’t think United were terrible tonight

Some of our set pieces were ridiculous, and actually some of their defending was quite good. I think Dalot, Mazraoui and De Ligt had decent games…and De Ligt surely would have got on the scoresheet if not for Raya

I think we played within ourselves a bit, perhaps a bit too respectful of the ability of the United players to catch us on the break

Playing Southampton for almost an hour with an extra man tends to help

Plus in the last three league games they’ve both scored and conceded the same amount of goals as us

They're clearly the weaker side and came to try and frustrate us. They did that excellently in the first half which made it a dull game.
We came out with more purpose in the second half and as soon as we got the goal though they had to come out more and that created gaps. After that we thumped them. We should have got more really. It was just nice to get a routine win in a game which was a real banana skin.

Not disputing that they are the weaker side, but as I say in the opening post they are defensively solid, and it wasn’t just tonight where that’s proved to be the case. The Liverpool and Spurs defeats have been outliers of a team that is a hard nut to crack.

Going forward?, there wasn’t much there. I think they have players with potential but I think it was rather summed up by Garnacho turning Timber I think it was brilliantly in the first half but ultimately couldn’t even win them a corner

We did dominate after we took the lead, but I think it was good defending on their part that stopped us from getting a third

We bamboozled them from set pieces but the deliveries from both Rice and Saka were so good at times, it would have caused most defences to struggle
