You realise of course that given that Ramsey isn’t a striker that a midfielders contribution should be more than scoring goals in fact for a midfielder it’s a second or third order consideration depending on where they play. What I’m saying to you is that Ramsey did not offer any of the attributes that a midfielders gives the team, passing to create space, winning the ball, tracking back, going on runs.


It’s like you say Merino has had the same benefit to the team as Partey because they’ve both scored goals. I get you’re in I need to win mode, but surely this doesn’t need to be explained to you?

Sure Ramsey's role was to be a disruptor and get into goal-scoring positions, different midfielders have different games

That said in my Arsenal Mania days I was often in arguments when I said he just ran around a lot and there was a bit of truth to that - a bit like Zin but without the catastrophic errors
