Ok following on from this I did read about Jota’s accident. Tyre blowout which caused him to lose control of the car and upon impact the car burst into flames

Interesting. I was talking to someone about this earlier because in general - and you seem to be the exception which proves the rule - everyone knows everything immediately these days.
Back in the day news percolated far more slowly. A notable counter example, I was about 16 when Thatcher resigned and that news spread like wildfire. Bearing in mind this was before mobile phones or the information super-highway.

I was in a departmental meeting all day a couple of weeks ago, and was hot desking somewhere else so left my phone there on charge. And so it wasn’t until a few hours after it happened that found out about that crashed Air India Dreamliner
