Everyone else has a lot of work to do. Giroud shouldn't be anywhere near the first team with that performance. Didn't win the ball in the air, never held it up or brought anyone into play, can't create chances for himself and fluffs his line when given a chance on goal.

Ramsey hasn't made a case for himself starting in the centre. Poor performance. No influence in the middle and must do a lot better if he wants to take his place back.

Gibbs and Debuchy won't win their spots back. Debuchy looks finished. Campbell had a bright start and just faded badly. These guys can thank a Flamini for getting them through to the next round. Might have been a long time before any of these guys get a start if we had gone out.
Agree with all of this. Ox's form is really starting to worry me, I don't know whether it's confidence but his decision making is pretty shambolic. He did a few decent things in the game yesterday, he played a big part in the opening goal but he just doesn't seem like he's going to kick on and he really lacks an end product, it's become a bit of an issue now IMO. Ramsey is a worry too..if he was trying to make a case to play for us in the Centre then he did himself no favours last night, he constantly gave the ball away and was running into blind alleys. Again he did do a few good things yesterday, he made a couple of killer passes, but overall he was disappointing.

The less said about Giroud the better. I agree regarding the fullbacks, Debuchy had a mare yesterday, though Joel Campbell didn't really do him any favours, saying that Debuchy has been really poor in his appearances for us this season. Gibbs is just Gibbs, he's a level below Monreal.

Back onto Joel Campbell, I've not been impressed with him so far, he comes across a bit like a headless chicken, aimless running with no end product, though I am not sure why he was playing on the right last night. There is a lot of work to be done on the first team regulars let alone their backups..it's worrying.

Campbell is a team player, and a solid one. He'll run all day for his team mates and he's positive, always looking to push on. He's a good player but Arsenal is the wrong club for him. He will never do well in one of Wenger's headless chicken, leaderless, freestyle set-ups. But stick him in an organised team that is working as a unit and I think he'll do well. He should look for a move in the summer, surprised he didn't go this summer. Wenger probably kept him around in case the unthinkable happened and Giroud and Theo failed to set the scoring charts in fire.

Only reason Campbell is still here is due to the death of Wellsick .
Society is now one polished horde
Formed by two mighty tribes, the bores and the bored.

"After all, it was the Gunners’ goalkeeper who started the move that culminated in Thomas’ crowning glory. It was Lukic who, in injury time, decided to throw the ball out to Lee Dixon rather than lump it long..."

Agree. He offers something different. I thought he looked decent yesterday considering he hasnt played much and wenger hates him.

Ox is just not that good.

He wasnt helped being played on the left, but he is just not a good player.

If you mean he's not the rounded and finished article, that's true. But he has huge talent. Just needs somebody to work with him and teach him how to apply that talent. Legend goes Wenger is the ideal man for that job, but watching Ox's decision making on Wednesday makes you wonder what's happening on the training pitch.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is not a huge talent. Our fans get suckered into thinking these players are better talents that they are because Wenger plays them at age 12 due to a lack of options.

I do think he I one of those guys that needs clear instruction because he is brainless but we have seen huge talents at Arsenal. We see them at similar ages in the premier league, Oxlade-Chamberlain ain't it. He can't dribble with his head up. He also makes the wrong runs, which is seriously annoying.

He influences games, sometimes in our favour and sometimes not. He's confident in his own abilities, even though the end result is not always there. He's positive and would rather press forward than play it sideways or square. He has enough pace to be dangerous. He's prepared to shoot at goal rather than bottle it and pass the responsibility. He has plenty going for him and glimpses of his natural talent can regularly be seen. He needs a decent coach now to bring his game together. He's not going to get that coaching at Arsenal, unless things change dramatically. Big shame but we've seen the same thing with many players now. Makes you wonder if it is the player who has to help Wenger along rather than the other way around.

I'm not really worried by Ox that much. I think he just needs a consistent run in the team to get the little details right like not switching off on defence or playing a better final ball. He may just be forcing it and needs to relax. It's good to hear Wenger say he's hard on himself but I hope he's giving him more to go on then this quasi-Bruce Lee 'art of expression' philosophy.

"He is growing. You feel the evolution has a sense of responsibility. I think Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain must believe more in himself. He must believe more in his talent and that will help him develop as a player. I think sometimes he is too critical of himself. I would like him to play with the freedom and express the desire of his talent.”
I hope he's giving him technical and tactical tips because every time I hear Wenger give advice on a player or what went wrong with our game, it's mostly all mental. But he can help Ox relax a bit more and play with freedom if he isn't dropped every other game and he doesn't see a CM playing in the role he should be starting this season. That can't be helping. I think if he had a run in the team we'd see more from him. He should be getting more games and probably the one player that should be starting out of that bunch. I see no reason why we're playing Ramsey there. It just hampers the development of two promising players.

I think Campbell is another player with potential but he really can't afford a slow game like that. He won't get a chance unless we're down on injuries or he plays a complete blinder. He needs to really show his worth in these sort of games. Just seems a bit rough and hasn't adapted to the league just yet but again, it's going to be hard to go from zero to hero just like that. I hope he does.
