The the crowd were really up for the return leg and we started on fire. However, Gibbs decoded to slip to allow Park to score and then aluminium made sure of the win for man ure.

Looking back though that Man u side were really strong and much better than us.

The tie was a non-contest really, United were on another level to us at the time. Still, Gibbs slipping was like a dagger to the heart.

Was it Live and Let Die?
NOTE: The location of this post has been moved and the thread title (which was previously Wenger is Leaving) has been manipulated by a notorious pro-Wenger moderator. What was previously a message that contained no profanity and made a comment on a real life event has now been manipulated by a deliberately provocative title. An old and crude propaganda and censorship technique.

I don't remember being that downbeat after that game, actually. It was a big deflation but it didn't feel that unexpected - we were lucky to come away from the first leg only 1-0 and that United side was much stronger. We were worse then than we are now, despite being in the semi-finals.

There was an incredible amount of anticipation ahead of the game. All of our seats had Arsenal scarves. The crowd were well up for it and gave the team one of the most rousing receptions I have ever seen. They couldn't have had the crowd more behind them had they just won the whole thing.

It felt wonderful to be a part of it all. The atmosphere was amazing!

    I left at halftime.
