Agreed. I feel that we have to win the league this time round because if we don't, it could be years in the wilderness, with the Chavs signing the acknowledged best manager on the world, and undoubtedly spending huge on the signings that they have no doubt agreed to let him have.

I disagree with Kano that Citeh have not been affected by the constant speculation over Pellegrini's future. I think that this has been a factor in their inconsistency this season, and I think their existing players and new signings will up their game under Guardiola. Pellegrini won't throw in the towel, but some of his mercenaries already have, and I can't see this news changing things in his favour.

While Guardiola was never coming to Arsenal, its difficult not to feel a little envious seeing what a club with proper ambition is doing...

Nah, I think he's far more professional than that. He kept on as normal under even worse pressure at Madrid. He's a guy that has been there and seen it all, so it all comes down to whether the players want to break their neck for a manager on his way out.

He was on the other side of the coin when Mancini was under pressure and his name was popping up every time City lost so he cant have any complaints.

This probably wins the gypos the title. Pellegrini is a decent bloke and he'll work out his contract professionally. And the mercs he's done a fairly decent job of managing know the chequebook king is on the way so they'll be staking a claim now in case they are out on their arse in the summer. If I were Sterling I'd be looking around in advance. And as for Nasri

I don't think he will. He comes across like a decent guy who would be hard to shock in terms of events in the football world. I think he'd want to go out with a couple of trophies as a way of fucking off the owners.

NOTE: The location of this post has been moved and the thread title (which was previously Wenger is Leaving) has been manipulated by a notorious pro-Wenger moderator. What was previously a message that contained no profanity and made a comment on a real life event has now been manipulated by a deliberately provocative title. An old and crude propaganda and censorship technique.

I think its simply a case of City wanting him more than any other team. You go to whichever club wants you more and City have bene after him since 2012 and will probably offer him everything he desires.

Anybody else find it distasteful City announcing Pep's arrival now? Yeah I know it's the biggest open secret in the game that he was going there but still....

It's now or never for Wenger IMO, City won't be screwing up all over the place under Pep, he'll be given the funds to shape whatever team he needs there and TBH, I think he'd have their current lot playing at a much higher level than Pelligrini is at the moment.

He's got exactly the type of challenge he thrives on. Unlimited cash and as many shopping trolleys as he can string together.

He's probably going to do well because he has the image the arabs want and I bet they'll be opening up the vaults full of stolen money big time so they can take their publicity stunt to the next level. It may not even matter much how well they do domestically provided they get to pitch a stall in the latter stages of the CL, it's about showbiz now.
