It's really down to the other teams to pick up the slack. Mercedes built that car from scratch and it switching to the hybrid engines worked in their favour. They were prepared for what was ahead, hence why they were able to get Hamilton on board. I really don't know what the heck the other teams were doing. Mclaren are the worst culprits. Alonso and Button deserve a lot better from their team but it just boils down to poor preparation. I don't think the FIA rules have helped ease the matter either.
Let's hope we don't see team instructions from Mercedes. It’s nothing like the Ferrari days. Schumacher was the best driver but he also had a ridiculous advantage with team instructions. It made it really boring to watch. Even Red Bull their moment of dominance along with team instructions.
