Has a club ever been so public in trying to ward off another club from their player? It's crazy.
Perhaps they want to keep the player, perhaps they are serious about the contracts they sign, perhaps they want to challenge on the pitch and so are desperate to hang on to their best players rather than sell them to direct rivals?

Being connected to Arsenal none of that makes any sense to us which is maybe why we are scratching our heads at Liverpool's strange behaviour.

Well given most of the squad was/is in Norway anyway it was a bit of an empty gesture. I could understand him saying not to Arsenal, that is logical and would still leave it open to a foreign bid. But you're right, closing it off completely is just plain odd and sets himself up for a massive fall.

Unless he has been given assurances (ha!) from Suarez that he backs down now in order to engineer a move in January or next Summer (I'm sure a new contract with a foreign release clause can be agreed quick enough). But I can't see that either, given Suarez's claims.

I'm hoping out of hope for football that we're sincere in this. But I'm not convinced.

Well they're dim if they think it's going to help, it's good for the fans to see the club remain firm, by words but to me, it just seems like bluster. The main issue is being able to replace players effectively, not selling them when they want to leave, harder to achieve when you sell them for a lot less than you otherwise should have - like we did.

I suppose that's true but you'll be back in Melwood tomorrow presumably, unless you're going straight to wherever the Celtic game is being played.

Yeah I doubt a new contract is going be likely, he's going to want everything to be explained in plain honest truth to him. Just sell him you morans!

Why do you think we added that extra £1 to the offer? This so-called transfer is going according to plan I suspect. What's needed now is a Suarez fight back, an indication he's getting his way. Then Liverpool push back and we ride the whole thing past the deadline for a narrow escape and another transfer profit. I hear we are close to picking up two unknown turds anyway so we won't be short in terms of numbers. Flamini would be great too, or Frank McClintock, he's not on TV any more is he? Or just sell the whole club and build a giant car park, another good way of fucking people over for big bucks.

We should sign Kenny Sansom and pay him fuck all as he doesn't have many overheads.

Yes, it may be better for the game as some people are saying they are happy to see 'pool stand their ground.........it is a colossal amount of money especially for us but I don't think it would be a waste unless as you say he fu*ks off soon. I reckon he could be fairly great for us and for that reason, I would welcome him here! but time is ticking and yes, he may have six games to serve on his ban so why worry about that.....I reckon he needs time to straighten his head if he were to ever move......now rather than later

Why aren't you in charge? You could do a much more thorough job.
